The
Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Center (CIIC) was founded
in 1996 to investigate the field of cancer immunology, which is
based on the premise that the body's immune system can be mobilized
against cancer. This field, which CIIC helped progress, has provided
the basis for the development of cancer immunotherapy.
The
center has established close links with clinical oncology departments
and collaboration with leading universities and research centers
in Europe and the USA. Within CIIC, highly qualified scientists
with clinical and/or laboratory experience in different fields of
oncology, are working together to establish a network for practical
and effective research, the overall objective being to rapidly translate
basic scientific results into clinical applications.
Research
at the Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy Center (CIIC) is dedicated
to experimental cancer research, in close collaboration with the
adjacent "Saint Savas" Cancer Hospital.
The
research conducted at the CIIC is focused in the scientific fields
of:
1.
Cellular Immunology
2. Molecular Immunology
3. Cellular Cancer Immunotherapy
4. Cancer drug targets
5. Cancer Vaccines
6. NK cell development and Immunotherapy
7. Production of monoclonal antibodies to tumor-associated antigens |
